How to Filter Reviews in Review Widgets

InfoSummary: You can filter the reviews displayed in a Trustindex widget based on star rating, language, platform, source, tags, and review length. You can also manually select specific reviews and choose how many reviews the widget should display. These options are available in the Widget Editor.

Where can I filter reviews?

Log in to your Trustindex account, open the Widget Editor, and choose the settings that match your needs.

1. Main Settings

Use these options to filter reviews by rating or language:

  • Rating filter: Display reviews based on their star rating. For example, you can show only 4- and 5-star reviews.

  • Reviews language: Filter reviews by the language they are written in.

2. Review Filter settings

Open the Review Filter section to access additional filtering options.

  • Platform: Choose which platforms to display reviews from, such as Google or Facebook.

  • Source: Select specific sources within a platform. This is useful if you have multiple sources from the same platform, such as several Google Business Profiles.

  • Manual select: Choose the exact reviews you want to display in your widget. Note: if you use Manual Selection for your review widget, it will overwrite any other filtering you set up (since the reviews are picked by you manually).

  • Tag filter: Display only reviews assigned to specific tags. Note: You must create and assign tags beforehand in the Review Tagging section.

  • Length: Set the minimum and maximum character count for reviews displayed in the widget. Set the minimum value to 0 if you also want to include reviews without text.

  • Number of reviews: Choose how many reviews the widget should display in total.

Which filters should I use?

The best combination depends on what you want your widget to show. For example:

  • Show only positive reviews: Set the rating filter to 4–5 stars.

  • Display reviews from multiple platforms: Select the desired platforms under Platform.

  • Show reviews from one specific business location: Select the relevant source.

  • Display reviews about a particular topic: Set up review tags and use the Tag filter.

  • Exclude reviews without text: Set the minimum review length to a value greater than 0.

You can combine multiple filters to customize which reviews appear in your widget.
